Connecticut Ninety-Nines member Fredrika "Rika" Ballard tragically passed away on January 14th, 2024 in an aviation accident in northwestern Massachusetts.
Rika was so special and important not only to our Ninety-Nines chapter, but to the larger aviation community. Her leadership, mentorship, and generosity will be missed enormously. While we navigate our grief, we also celebrate the life of one of the most amazing female aviators and entrepreneurs in history. Read more about Rika here.
In Rika's honor, our chapter is organizing a named scholarship fund to contribute to a female pilot's flight training at any level (private, commercial, instrument, CFI, CFII, ATP, glider, seaplane, etc.). Details and applications for this scholarship will be available in the coming months.
Please consider a contribution to this scholarship fund, which will honor Rika's incredible efforts to get more women and girls to Look Up, Go Up.
